About Lynyrd Skynyrd
Ronnie Van Sant was a talented song writer and guitarist, the leader of the successful rock blues guitar band Lynyrd Skynyrd. Van Sant and two other members of the band died in a plane crash in 1977, cutting off the meteoric rise of the band, which by that point in time had five albums recorded, and several hits, including two top 20 singles in Free Bird and What's Your Name. Several years after the plane crash, Lynyrd Skynyrd would reunite and continue recording under a new lineup.
